A bread or mash made from cornmeal, magmaliga, is cooked and served in many ways. Tzuicia is the name for a wine and plum brandy, a popular drink in Romania.
~The main holidays in Romania are Romania’s National Day (December 1st), Martisor (March 1st), Orthodox Easter (April 11th), Christmas (December 25th), and New Year’s Day and Eve (December 31st-January 1st).
~Romania’s National Day celebrates Romania. Martisor is a holiday when people wear pin given to them by family and friends. Wearing many of these symbolizes high esteem of hem from friends and family. The pins are worn for two weeks on and after March 1st. The Orthodox Easter recognizes the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Christmas recognizes the birth of Jesus Christ. New Year’s eve and Day symbolize the New Year.
